16 Reasons Why It Is So Important To Follow Your Dreams

A Dream, a vision, a goal, a desire, these are all things most of us know we need when we are working towards success but have somewhere along the line, forgotten why it is so important we follow them through.

So I have created this list….. Well, lets call it a reminder of why it is so important to follow your dreams.

1. The secret of living is giving, if you follow your dreams then you will have something worth sharing with others, hope, inspiration and a meaning to live, and that to me, is a great contribution.

2. Chasing your dreams will develop your courage. Courage is your fuel to achieve amazing success in life, follow your dreams and exercise courage. In sure enough time you will be unstoppable.

3. There is a reason why as kids we loved magic and dreams. Stop chasing your dreams and you will forget how it feels to live hopeful and young.

4. Great dreamers grow to be independent, learning that they can make a difference all by themselves.

5. Dreams can distract you from the negative events in life. You will weigh up what is more important, your dreams or the drama. Drama seems obsolete when you are passionate about following your dreams.

6. It gives you something to share and inspire your kids with, you have led by example that anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

7. Through accomplishing your dreams you will come to appreciate the experience of failure and know that failure is just part of success and that it wasn’t really all that bad as it was all worth it in the end.

8. Regret is a terrible thing, and a dream is powerful enough to bring you regret if you don’t take the chance to at least follow it.

9. Because you are never too old to dream. Age means nothing when we know what we want.

10. You become an interesting person, you show others you have meaning, direction and purpose.

11. The unknown of following your dreams may spark a little fear, this is okay though because a little fear is known to make you feel more alive.

12. It is fun proving the world wrong, so why would you follow the status quo?

13. The more you chase and accomplish your dreams the more the lines of the boundaries that the world puts in front of us fade, as we learn that any and everything is possible.

14. When you accomplish your dream, you are the first to see it happen. You can share your accomplishments with the rest of the world but you where there in the front row on a single chair to experience the magic that unfolded.

15. Your dreams have no limits, you are the creator of your dreams, big or small. When this is understood, you are able to design a way to favour you plan and accomplish your end goal.

16. A dream is strong enough to define you, once accomplished you prove to others they have no say in who you can and can’t be.

True happiness and success comes when you do what you are most passionate about! One of the biggest things that most of us lack is passion. Ask any successful person, entrepreneur, millionaire and they will all tell you the same thing; you must be passionate about what you do! Think about something in your life where you seem to always expand its horizon, always coming up with new, fun, and exciting ideas relating to that subject. Whatever makes you creative is something that you are passionate about.

What would you do for free?
Think about something that you would just love to do, even if you were not getting paid. Think about something that you look forward to do, something that you wish you could do all the time

What do you like to talk about?
Most of the time, we aren’t aware of this. A good way to figure this out properly, is to ask your friends. Ask them what they believe you like to talk about the most, what topic makes your eyes brighten up, and changes your entire behaviour.

What makes you unafraid of failure?
When you do what you are passionate about, you have total confidence in your abilities. This makes you not worry about failing, because in your mind, how can you fail when you do what you love?

If you want to be inspired by some of today’s leading minds, and you have a few minutes to spare, head on over to TED. The nonprofit, with the mission of spreading ideas, started out as a conference in 1984 that focuses on Technology, Entertainment and Design. On Ted.com, you’ll find the best talks and performances from TED, over 1,500 of them, all available for free. 5. Instructables

Launched in August 2005, instructables is a place that lets the community share their DIY creations with the rest of the world. The idea for instructables came about at the MIT Media Lab. Kickstarter

Like the name implies, Kickstarter is a great place for creative people to kickstart their projects. Since its launch in 2009 the site has helped fund thousands of new products and projects. Kickstarter is ideal for inventors, artists or anyone creative. Projects relating to art, design, film and technology tend to succeed.
How it works:
Kickstarter uses an “all or nothing” model of crowd funding. So if a project’s goals aren’t met then money never changes hands, which minimizes risk for all parties. Each fundraising page has a video, a goal and a deadline. Backers are given rewards based on their contribution, which can be anything from a credit on the company’s website to a prototype of a product.
Success Story:
The creators of Coffee Joulies raised $306,944 (about 32 times their original goal) on Kickstarter. Because they raised so much money they were able to manufacture their product in the USA.

Lucky Ant

Lucky Ant puts a hyper local spin on crowd funding by focusing on local businesses. Every week the site features a small business that needs money in order to expand or offer new services. The idea is that by supporting local businesses, people are investing in their own neighborhood. Currently Lucky Ant on serves New York City.
How it works:
Similar to Kickstarter, Lucky Ant campaigns each have a goal and a deadline. Business owners can also offer rewards for different pledge amounts, such as free products or services.
Success Story:
Manhattan based fitness studio, Bari raised $5,000 in order to trademark their unique workout program. Without funding the owners had no way to protect their brand, but now, who knows–Bari may become the next P90X or Zumba.
Quirky

Unlike crowd funding sites, Quirky doesn’t help fund good ideas–they actualize them. Anyone with an idea for a product can post it on Quirky for a chance to turn it into a reality.
How it works:
Anyone can post an idea, which then gets evaluated for 30 days by the Quirky community. Behind the scenes, the site is constantly tracking which ideas are the most popular. If the Quirky staff finds a popular product that they think might actually succeed, they’ll mark it “under consideration.” Every week at least 2 ideas are chosen to go into production. Ideas that aren’t chosen can be resubmitted to Quirky or taken elsewhere.
Success Story:
Every product in the Quirky Shop is a success story. Innovative new products like Digits texting gloves and Cordies started as ideas on Quirky.

RocketHub

RocketHub sets themselves apart by offering two distinct services, FuelPad and LaunchPad. In the FuelPad section of the site users can seek crowd funding for their projects. In the LaunchPad section creative folks can throw their hat in the ring for a chance to win an incredible opportunity.
How it works:
The FuelPad works a bit like Kickstarter. However, rather than employing an “all or nothing” model RocketHub lets you keep all of the money you raise regardless of your goal. The LaunchPad section features auditions for great opportunities. Creative people can submit their case for why they should be chosen for a specific opportunity. A panel of judges review each submission, fans vote on their favorite submissions, and a winner is chosen. Past opportunities include spending a week making music at the Gibson Music Retreat and working with famous publicist Arien Rozelle.
Success Story:
While most people use RocketHub to fuel a creative project, the creative team behind the web series Extra Credits asked their fans to help pay for surgery for one of their teammates. Their original goal was $15,000 but they raised nearly 7 times that amount. Thanks to the overflow the Extra Credits team now plans to support indie game developers.

IndieGoGo

Unlike some other crowd funding sites, pretty much anything goes on IndieGoGo. You’ll find everything from creative projects to people who need help paying for medical treatment. Since the site was started in 2008 it has helped raise millions of dollars across 60,000 campaigns.
How it works:
Anyone can start a campaign, whether it’s for a cause, a business or a project. Each project has a goal and a deadline, but the creator can keep the funds even if their goal isn’t met. Different contribution amounts often can come with different perks, like hand written thank you cards or a product.
Success Story:
The creators of the eMAKER Huxley 3D printer raised $158,685, exceeding their goal by almost $130,000. Thanks to their success on IndieGoGo, they were able to develop innovative open source 3D printers and make them available to the mass market at a reasonable price.

5 Things A Successful and Happy Person Should Never Say

Do you choose your words before speaking? Do you put them to positive or negative use? If I could hear your self-talk or your conversations, what kind of statements would I hear? Statements that create happiness or statements that repel it?
The words we use have a big impact on our lives. They have the power to create or destroy. I challenge you to chose your words wisely and it’s time to STOP saying….

1. “I don’t have a choice.”

You always have a choice. In fact you are choosing every day, every hour, every minute. Not choosing is a choice, too. By saying you don’t have a choice in something, you are giving away your ability to choose.If you don’t like something about your live, make a different decision.

2. “I can’t.”

Yes, YOU CAN! Even if you are in bad situation at the moment – You may feel discouraged. You may feel too old. You may feel upset. You may be sick. You may be divorced. You may be unemployed. . But what is important, is that you are ALIVE! Your journey is far from over. Realize that you can do anything!
Forget about previous experiences. Just because you couldn’t do something before doesn’t mean you won’t be able to do it in the future. Everything is possible.

3. “I missed my chance.”

As Charlie Chaplin once said “Nothing is permanent in this world, not even our troubles.”
You might not be exactly where you had intended to go, but you are exactly where you need to be to take the next best step forward. We can’t change the past; we can only change the present. If you can’t see the opportunity, build it.
It is never too late to become what you might have been. Keep growing, keep learning, keep adapting!

4. “My goals and dreams can wait.”

Wait for what? Your dreams and goals can’t wait. It would bea disgrace for you to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of your full potential.
So be brave enough to go after your dreams. We all have dreams for a reason, and that reason is to achieve them. Fly! Spread your wings! Become the person you are meant to be, because you won’t get a second shot at life. That’s why you owe to be a dreamer, a positive person and a believer!

5. “They are probably right, so I must be wrong.”

Don’t let others confuse you. Your heart already knows what’s best for you. Listen to it. Others might know what’s best for themselves, but they surely don’t know what’s best for you. A favorite quote of mine by Albert Einstein says:

The one who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. Those who walk alone are likely to find themselves in places no one has ever been before.

Even if people do not support you, that doesn’t mean that you are wrong. The truth is that the world isn’t as it is, but as we see it. And we all see it differently. Don’t be afraid.. It’s okay to take a different path, as long as you know why you are doing so.
